Welcome to week 6 - check out week 5 here if you haven't already!
I already have a post about scientific manuscript writing - which is most of what I did this week - in the science section of my blog. However, I will discuss a few more details specific to this project when it comes to doing this type of writeup.
This is the first time I've written a scientific manuscript outside of a classroom setting, and I thought I would offer up some tips for people in the same position. It can be challenging to write something when the parameters are entirely your own, but I found it helpful to do the following:
Use the same format I've used for class papers, from paragraph structure to section order.
Don't feel the need to try to do things beyond the scope of your project just because the scope is self-created, unless you want to and have time to.
Take time to breathe, rest, and don't be afraid to ask for help.
This week I also worked on formatting my citizen science guide that I discussed in my post, which will be posted soon!
